5 out of 5 stars Best food magazine out there!   August 9, 2010

Saveur set the standard for all other food magazines. If you're a foodie, you'll love it.

4 out of 5 stars On line relations with the magazine subscription service was poor   July 30, 2010

I will not use this service through Amazon again. Amazon throws its hands up when this error occured. In this case, a duplicate order. After dealing with the Bonnier corp-magazine seller with no luck-I finally got my credit card company to straighten it out and cancel the duplicate subscription last year. Now, the renewal (which was part of the deal) was charged twice. Enough.
The company's response, "we will deliver for two more years, not credit the double billing" Thanks but no thanks.

5 out of 5 stars An informational yet fun resource   June 24, 2010

Saveur is by far the best food magazine I've ever ordered, and one of the few I set to automatic renewal. It's informational, not just packed with recipes. Each issue is centered around a topic, market foods, cuts of meat, barbecue, vegetarian dishes, etc. There's an article that introduces the theme and then each of the recipes go on to expand it. The recipes range from very easy to more complex, and I'm willing to bet that just about everyone can find something of interest.

The photos are very well done and accompany the different recipes. It has a nice layout and is really a visual treat to the eyes. This is one magazine that I'd highly recommend for personal use, or as a gift subscription to a friend.

1 out of 5 stars Food writing is overly pretentious, obtuse, and irritating   June 22, 2010

The magazine is run by food snobs who prefer complication and pretension over good quality non-frilly food. If they were a restaurant, I'd doubt they'd ever get their Michelin star.

Secondly, their publisher is a very unkind dowdy person who has watched 'The Devil Wears Prada' far too many times for her own good.
