Very handy May 18, 2010 Patti C (NE Ohio) These little magnetic containers are a good value for the money. I didn't use the metal backer but just attached them to the side of my kitchen exhaust fan and put my most used spices there.
Solid, attractive, cheap May 7, 2010 C. Harper I purchased several sets of these as I cook a lot and needed to get my large collection of spices under control. They work wonderfully and are very attractive. The metal (it is metal, unlike some plastics which like to pretend) is firm and the plastic windows arrived without scratches (they were covered by a film). I do not trust the magnets on the back and while I would like to keep them on the fridge I have been told that the heat/humidity would damage the spices. The only other down side is that they are not good for storing powders. Flakes and whole spices work fine, but the powders tend to get caught in the twisting portion.
As a side note: Purchase the labels! I regret not spending those $3.00. Something so simple that would have made a world of difference.
perfect in many ways April 8, 2010 Zaftig Artist (SLC Utah) Great size. Magnet is strong. I use them on an 18x24" magnetized board for the wall. With a slot for pouring or 4 holes for shaking, dispensing my herbs and spices is simple. I can remove the lids to use larger amounts of herbs and spices. I gave this product a 4 star instead of 5 because the lids are a bit grindy to take off and put back on. Nothing inconvenient, just mildly annoying. I don't use the display stand included with the set, so I can't evaluate it. They're clean, modern, simple containers that integrate well with most any decor. I can clearly see all of my herbs and spices as I cook and use them conveniently. They're a great product for the price. Anyone who cooks with herbs and seasonings will love these.
Nice item March 15, 2010 leffingw 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased 5 sets of these tins to contain my assortment of spices.
Of course, I washed them after I removed them from the packaging, but I was surprised to find that there was a layer of grime on all of them. It was easily removed with dish soap, but make sure that you wash thoroughly.
I handwashed each one because the heat of the dishwasher can damage magnets. The base magnets are glued onto the bottom of each tin. Some of the magnets are not dead-center on the base, and some are not as strong as the others. Only one spice slides down the wall, but it is the heaviest spice that I have, so I made other arrangements for it.
The acrylic windows on the lids were slightly scratched from shipping/packaging, but probably not enough for a bystander to notice. The windows are sealed into the lid with what appears to be silicone.
Although the seal between the lid and base is not airtight, it seems to be adequate, as nothing leaks out of the containers while they hang on the side of my refrigerator.
On whole, I am very happy with this set. Now I have everything within arm's reach. I no longer have to dig through a drawer or reach to the back of a cabinet for spices that I use less frequently. They also look very nice attached to the side of my fridge. Great value.

I had a set of nice (well made) spice containers already, and was looking to add to the collection without spending a lot of money. These worked, in that they look a lot like the ones I already have and were cheap. However, they are nowhere near the quality of the other ones I have. The magnet is not as strong; the seal is not very good (the metal lid rests right on the metal base without a seal ring); a couple of the lids were cracked (although this may have been caused by me running them through the dishwasher); and one of the bases was missing a hole to shake out the spice. They look good though!
