Amazon.com Review Lodge Color is one of the newest lines from this respected American cast iron cookware company. Traditionally shaped and more affordable than some European brands, Lodge Color enameled cast iron is just as durable, requires no seasoning, and attractively serves at the table. Lodge infuses this 6-quart Dutch oven with two coats of hard-as-nails porcelain enamel, in a choice of several bright colors that are gradated (dark to light) on the exterior, and which are nicely set off by a cream interior. Embellished with concentric circles and a black knob, the lid, which also fits the Lodge Color 11-inch skillet, is oven-safe to 400 degrees F, so you can start a stew or casserole on the stovetop and finish by baking it in the oven. The 6-quart Dutch oven measures 10-3/4 inches in diameter and 5 inches deep. Lodge enameled cast iron makes a smart choice due to its versatility-you can marinate raw meats in it, since it won't absorb odors or flavors, and you can braise, sauté, simmer, and bake in it. Made in China to Lodge's meticulous specifications, each cookware item is first clad in matte black enamel before the color is added. The black rim that shows on the oven is actually the scratch-resistant matte enamel, not the raw cast iron. Though the Dutch oven is dishwasher-safe, washing by hand is recommended to best preserve the glossy finish. Look also for the pricier Lodge Enamel series, with its unique L-shaped lid knob, in a different set of colors and sizes to suit any kitchen. All Lodge enameled ware is covered by a lifetime warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

OK for the money but would pay more if made in the USA July 29, 2010 Rodchester (Baton Rouge, La United States) It's made in China and it shows. I have been extremely careful with this pot and yet I'm seeing rust in one spot around the rim. Also, the lid has three equally spaced protrusions that keep it from making a tight seal. I wouldn't buy from Lodge again unless they brought the manufacturing back to the USA. If this is the type of cookware you really want, go with the real deal and get Le Cruset. (I have a smaller pot by them and the quality is much better)
Excelloent Dutch Oven July 17, 2010 Greg Carter What can I say? Great value, works well, looks great. What more do you want?
Beautiful pot July 13, 2010 Grazyna Froehlich This dutch oven is just as beautiful as practical. Started using it the first day it arrived and haven't stopped yet. Highly recommend it, great quality.
Father's Day Present July 12, 2010 Lela I bought this for my husband and he hasn't used it yet...I think he's waiting for the fall. The oven is really heavy and substantial. The color is a traditional rustic reddish hue. I thought that I may need to buy a different knob so that it doesn't melt in the oven, but the packaging said that it's safe to 400 degrees; otherwise install a metal one, or remove the high-temp plastic one. We'll never use it at a higher temperature, so I'm relieved. I'm glad I bought this for him. I can't wait for the many home style meals we'll enjoy!
love it July 6, 2010 Katie Cobb (Chicago, IL United States) I love it so much, I cook almost everything in it. I did have a small problem with mine where a chip of enamel came off the bottom but Lodge replaced it free after just one short, easy phone call. Their customer service was good, and the product is great. I love the surface-- not teflon, but not much sticks to it. The size is great-- it can cook a large roast or a batch of sauce, or just dinner for me when I'm on my own.
