Yeah, this stuff is hot. If you're not a heat connoisseur then you would be better off to not use the entire packet or go with maybe 1.5 lbs of beef. I like food that is hot and spicy however this spice mix for me was more of a cover up than a compliment to the natural flavor of the ground beef. Still, it didn't stop me from eventually eating it all. Since no one else was really that crazy about this batch, it didn't get munched as quickly. If you play around with the amount used, you'll be able to find the right solution that gives you the flavorful kick without the cover-up.

This spice was just as easy as all the other nesco jerky spice kits. Usually when something is marketed as hot and spicy, it's not really all that hot or spicy... but this is. It has a very good flavor to go along with the spice. The heat is not over bearing, but it is there, and it is good.

I'm new to making my own jerky but these spice packs make it simple. This is my favorite of the Nesco spices because it gives the jerky a great flavor and a bit of a kick. Highly recommend!

I bought this not expecting much, most things labeled as "spicy" are really just a joke but this seasoning really has a kick to it, not as spicy as adding drops of Dave's Gourmet Insanity Hot Sauce" to the meat but enough to keep you wanting more.

People who think Tobasco Sauce is hot should stay away cause this seasoning is hotter than that, otherwise, I highly recomend it.

I love jerky and make it ofter with my dehydrator. I tried many recepies and other brands of mix but Nesco is the best I had. It is so quick and easy using ground meats. I like to get different flavors and mix them in one batch of ground beef. It is really the best!
